Every life has a story worth remembering.
Hi, I’m Alexandra Capone, the founder of Capissimo Studios. I’ve always believed that some of the best stories aren’t the ones we see on a movie screen. They’re the ones that already exist within our own families — the stories we’ve heard a hundred times around the dinner table, the photographs tucked away in albums, and the little moments we don’t realize we’ll miss until years later.
I studied screenwriting at Loyola Marymount University, where I learned how to build characters, shape stories, and bring a life to the screen. But somewhere along the way, I became increasingly interested in using those same tools to tell stories about real people.
That idea became Capissimo Studios.
Your photographs are only the beginning.
Most of us have boxes, albums, and camera rolls filled with photographs. They capture what someone looked like at a particular moment, but there is usually so much more happening beyond the frame.
Who were they then? What made everyone laugh? What happened five minutes before that picture was taken? What stories have been passed down through the family — and which ones haven't been told in years?
At Capissimo Studios, I take those photographs and the stories behind them and transform them into personalized cinematic films.
There’s no film crew coming into your home and no need to perform for a camera. It starts simply with a conversation. I listen to your stories, learn about the people and moments that matter to you, and use your real photographs as the foundation for a film created specifically for you and your family.
Why I started Capissimo.
This is personal to me, too.
The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve realized how much of a person’s life can disappear if no one takes the time to ask about it.
There are versions of our parents and grandparents we never knew. They had childhood friends, first jobs, favorite places, embarrassing moments, adventures, traditions, and entire lives before we ever entered the picture.
I wanted to create a way to preserve more than names and dates. I wanted families to be able to experience those stories — to see the people they love as the main characters of their own films.
Because someday, a photograph may be all someone has left of a moment.
The story behind it shouldn’t have to disappear.
That’s what Capissimo Studios is here to preserve.
